We hold all your information in a secure and protected form and will only share your information in compliance with Data Protection Rules and Regulations.
Data:
In order to provide medical care to our patients we need to take details in relation to our patients, some of which is sensitive in nature.
All of this information is held in a secure fashion, and is only accessed as necessary for the provision of care to you as a patient.
Sharing of information: The practice will share your information only as far as is required for the purposes of the provision of medical services and care to you. This will include the following:
- Provision of details of care to you under the medical card and other public schemes;
- Referral and provision of details to other healthcare professionals, such as hospitals, occupational therapists, public health nurses and other groups.
- Provision of details to solicitors and insurance companies where you have consented to the sharing of this information.
Retention of information: We will retain your information for a period of 8 years after you have left the practice. If you wish to transfer your care to a new GP we will be happy to provide a copy of your records to your new GP.
